Abstract


In the short story "Engelbecken" by German writer Tobias Hülswitt (1973-  ), Katja struggles with the histories of the refugees and immigrants to whom she teaches German, while considering what kind of meaning her own life as a contemporary Berliner can have. A photograph of the Angel Pool by the translator, Rachel Halverson, accompanies the translation.
