Thomas W. Donnelly

Abstract

The genus Epigomphus Selys 1854 in Mexico and northern Central America contains six described and three new species. E. maya n. sp. from the Maya Mountains of Belize is closest to E. quadracies from western Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama. E. flinti n. sp. from Oaxaca and E. sulcatistyla n. sp. (originally placed with E. paulsoni from Veracruz) are closest to E. paulsoni, which is limited to Chiapas. Males of Epigomphus are separated most reliability by the form of their abdominal appendages.
