Abstract

Correlation between Xiphinema index and the grapevine fanleaf virus disease in vineyards of Castilla León (Central Spain). An evaluation of virus disease in Castilla León (Central Spain) vine growing areas is carried out. A total of 4,934 grapevine samples from 95 localities from the Origin Denomination of EI Bierzo, Cigales, Ribera de Duero, Rueda and Toro and the specific denomination of Cebreros were analyzed far the presence of grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV). The inmunoenzymatic test ELISA was used far virus detection. Studies on correlation between virus presence and vector nematode Xiphinema index were carried out on a totaI of 110 soil samples taken around infected grapes roots. Results showed that GFLV was present in a 12,8% of samples with a 31% correlation of virus/vector.
